Where some artists tend to pair back their songs for a Tiny Desk Concert, Lizzo went above and beyond when she popped into NPR’s offices with a fire 17-minute medley of songs from Cuz I Love You, her breakthrough third album.

NPR says it’s one of their biggest crowds for the segment, and you can hear them — Lizzo brings a lot of energy to her performance not just with her vocals but chair choreography that’d put some dance routines to shame.

Backed by a four-piece, Lizzo blitzes through three songs: ‘Cuz I Love You’, ‘Truth Hurts’ and ‘Juice’. And yes, Lizzo breaks out the flute for this “tiny, tiny ass desk” in the last song, ‘Juice’. We love to see it.

But the best part might be the riffing in-between, where Lizzo’s personality shines. She riffs with the audience about being ‘fuckboi free’ and a baby who sings along, and it’s a joy to watch , brimming with Lizzo’s messages of self-love and empowerment. As she signs off with, “If you can love my big black ass at this tiny, tiny desk, you can love yourself”.

Lizzo will make her first trip to Australia this January for FOMO Festival, alongside Brockhampton, Kaytranada, Rico Nasty and more. Watch her Tiny Desk Concert below, and inject some happiness into your day.
