Celebrities — they really are just like us.

Sure, they might have many millions of dollars, high-profile relationships, and the ability to fly anywhere on the planet Earth at literally any time. But none of those accoutrements are enough to erase the fact that being a human in the world is weird, and getting through the day requires navigating a series of opportunities to absolutely humiliate yourself.

Case in point? Lil Nas, the rapper/singer behind the viral hit ‘Old Town Road’ appeared on the BBC recently to talk about becoming one of the biggest popstars on the planet literally overnight. The interview went really nicely, all things considered — Lil Nas is a warm and agreeable presence, very good at answering the presenter’s questions while also dropping knowing winks at the camera for all of his fans sitting back at home.

So yep, so far, so good. But then the interview wrapped up, and instead of sitting quietly on the couch while waiting for the commercial break, Lil Nas stood up and tried to walk off-set, passing directly inbetween the two very flapped hosts and the camera.

As you can probably imagine, the resulting footage is a work of great beauty, the kind of priceless relic that we should hang in the Louvre.

“Nas, can we just say, you walked right across our camera shot,” the smiling BBC presenter announced just after the snafu. “But you see, you know how to steal the show.”

Lil Nas, for his part, has responded to the whole thing on Twitter with his trademark mix of awkwardness and humility.

To be more precise, he said “lmfaooo,” because he is a legend and we should all try to be a lot more like him.

You do you, Lil Nas. You do you. (And keep churning out bangers while you’re at it.)
