If you’re one of those people who still walks around endlessly quoting lines from The Office (and not even lines from the newer US one, but the original series), then your throwaway quips could soon become relevant again, for David Brent is making a comeback. Well, another comeback.

Head over to Ricky Gervais’s YouTube channel, and you’ll find your ol’ friend David Brent — “teacher, rebel, songwriter, rep” — looking much slimmer and a tad greyer, and singing a heartfelt tune called ‘Life On The Road’, about the life of a sales rep in-between pitch meetings.

That video’s a teaser to a new YouTube series launching on May 20, in which David Brent teaches us all how to play guitar. Who better to learn from? As The Office fans will remember, Brent was no stranger to impromptu office recitals, a cubicle superstar stuck in Slough “while Texas were off making all the money“.
