Leonardo DiCaprio Is Making A ‘Captain Planet’ Movie, Because He Loves The Environment That Much
Because saving our planet is the thing to do!
A few years ago it was reported that legendary ’90s cartoon Captain Planet would be getting film adaptation, but just like Ma-Ti’s giant neon heart in the sky, this soon disappeared. However it seems that one climate change warrior has decided to respond to the call of the Planeteers. And that brave and socially conscious soul is Leonardo DiCaprio.
“Looting and polluting is not the way,” Leo thought, probably. “Here’s what Captain Planet has to say!”

Hey.
According to Birth.Death.Movies, Paramount and DiCaprio’s company Appian Way are starting work on a live-action Captain Planet which will take place after the cartoon, in which Captain Planet needs to be inspired to combat climate change. Seeing as DiCaprio is a stubborn advocate for you know, actually doing something about climate change, this isn’t such a weird move for him.
My hope is that they bring back some of the old “eco-villians” like Verminous Skumm (originally voiced by Jeff Goldblum) and Dr. Blight (who was voiced by Meg Ryan). I also hope that they address that Ma-Ti’s power to evoke sympathy in enemies is basically nonsense, and makes all the other powers redundant. I’ve thought about this for many years.
I mean, the perfect live-action Captain Planet has already been made, but we’ll see what happens anyway.
