The folks over at Chanel took social distancing guidelines very seriously at their elaborately glamorous 2021 Métiers d’Art show when they only invited one guest to view it, Kristen Stewart.

Stewart was a one-woman audience to the Métiers d’Art show — the only person who watched the event live as it was filmed on Tuesday at the Château de Chenonceau in France’s Loire Valley.

While Stewart’s longtime love of and association with, the brand was no doubt a factor in her lone yet formidable presence, she is set to lead the collection’s campaign as a Chanel ambassador in 2021.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions in France, the show itself was created with, and featured, a total of 301 essential personnel. 300 cast and crew members and, of course, one Kristen Stewart. The Happiest Season actor watched on graciously as the show unfolded before her, and applauded the cast and crew at the end.

It was a fashion show, after all, so I’d be remiss not to point out that Kristen Stewart looked incredible. She wore layered black pieces with- but what else? An elegant string of pearls.

It may surprise you, but I personally find Stewart’s private show situation highly relatable. The same thing happened to me that one time I went to a 9am session of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. I was fully decked out in my top-notch Star Wars memorabilia to flex on other fans, only to find I was the only person in the cinema. That too, was a private show, admittedly with fewer pearls.

Stewart’s lone iconic presence at the Chanel show is yet another sign of the unprecedented times we’ve been living. It is also a huge moment for Stewart’s career with the brand.

For me personally, Kristen Stewart’s presence at the Chanel show begs an important philosophical question. That question is simply:  If a Chanel fashion show is performed and Kristen Stewart is not there, does the Chanel show actually happen?
