Kim Kardashian Is Getting Torched For Her Incredibly Tone-Deaf ‘Private Island’ Party Posts
"Kim, there's people that are dying" has truly never been more relevant.

For some reason, private island pandemic parties have become a real thing in recent months.
Back in September, Daniel Newman, a lesser-known actor, was torn to absolute shreds after he took 25 of his mask-less friends to a “private island” for a group holiday.
After sharing his painfully un-diverse group photo with the caption: “Summer fun! (Private island, all tested negative multiple times. Wear a mask.)” the Walking Dead actor was dragged to hell and back.
With zero masks, no social distancing and the discovery that the group wasn’t even on a private island at all and was actually just at Tulum, Mexico, everyone poked fun a Newman’s mid-pandemic group holiday with “Summer Fun!” memes for what felt like forever.
Somehow not learning from Daniel Newman’s mistake, Kim Kardashian has managed to fall into the exact same trap.
While tweeting about her 40th birthday, Kim K shared a bunch of happy snaps around the festivities. After chatting about how much people took travel for granted prior to COVID, Kim then revealed that she took her family and friends on a trip to a private island for her birthday.
“After two weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time,” she painfully tweeted.
“I realise that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now, so in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is,” she continued. “#ThisIs40”

We danced, rode bikes, swam near whales, kayaked, watched a movie on the beach and so much more. I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now, so in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is. #thisis40 pic.twitter.com/UYOcVBpytW

Instead of just leaving the tweet in her drafts, Kim Kardashian looked at what she was about to send out into the world and decided to foolishly hit publish.
And as a result, she was rightfully dragged the second the tweet hit the timeline.
People questioned how Kim K could logically think a series of tweets that spoke about her immense privilege was something that the world wanted to see in the middle of a pandemic. And even though Kim Kardashian took a moment to acknowledge her privilege and claimed that she was “humbled” by it, still deciding to flaunt it on Twitter doesn’t make her look any better. In fact, she looks worse.
Kim K’s inability to just read the damn room is astonishing. To ignore that so many people as struggling to live after losing their jobs, family members and their own health due to COVID-19 truly is a choice to make.
Plus, this idea that just because her “closest inner circle” quarantined for two weeks somehow makes this trip normal ignores that staff who waited on this group were forced to wear masks and be exposed to large groups of people, too.
In the infamous words of her own sister, Kourtney Kardashian, “Kim, there’s people that are dying”.

cool, people have had to say goodbye to loved ones over the phone while they died alone in a hospital. but neat trip to post all over social media while the world suffers. so humble and so down to earth, truly.

The word “humbly” isn’t magic. If you add it to a bowl of shit, it’s still a bowl of shit. https://t.co/jNrJoloJ4w

The overwhelming response to Kim Kardashian’s tweets, however, was just everyone turning the Keeping Up star into a meme by using her own words against her.
Taking her tweet about “two weeks of multiple health screens”, people begun sharing their own image of ~private island parties~ that gave off the same energy — from far too crowded Club Penguin game screens to the incredibly dreadful Fyre Festival.

I mean, even the Museum of Modern Art couldn’t let Kim Kardashian’s painfully tone-deaf tweet slide, and decided added to the noise with an artistic angle.
