Kim And Kanye’s Interview About Their Horrifying House Is Actually Very Funny

Kim and Kanye's house straight out of a horror film = very bad. Kim and Kanye talking about their horror house = very good.

Through Snapchat and Instagram Stories, we’ve seen glimpses of Kim Kardashian West’s insane Los Angeles mansion.

Described by Kim as a “minimal monastery“, the Kardashian-West family have remained relatively private when it comes to sharing details about their house. Likely to protect their privacy, especially after Kim’s Parisian robbery.

But from what we have seen, there was the bathroom that had taps with no basins, then there was the eerily furniture-less hallways that Kanye famously tweeted about. “Do this look like the Sunken Place,” he said about a house that definitely did look like it belonged in Jordan Peele’s Get Out.

However, Kim and Kanye have given everyone a proper view of their home in a new interview with Architectural DigestLetting photographers into their home, Kim shared glimpses of the house beyond bathrooms and hallways.

Kanye explains that their “vision for [the home] was built around our family” despite the seemingly empty mansion being void of any toys, colour, joy and fun.

“The proportions are the decoration,” Kanye told Architectural Digest. Makes sense because famously we all know that children under five hate bright rooms and Lego blocks. All they care about are proportions, Kanye.

Laters in the interview, Kim admitted that she was clueless about furniture before Kanye came into her life. But by the look of their home now, it seems like neither of them know anything about furniture still. Kim also spoke about being “the voice of functionality” to Kanye’s “most far-out ideas”, which doesn’t seem to have worked all that well considering the state of their sink-less bathroom.

Despite the “pure” and “neutral” palette adopted inside the horror house, Kim surprised everyone by sharing a photo of North’s room. Not to be too frank, but even the butterfly adorned bedroom that was painted in all pink was still boring as shit. What kind of 6-year-old child wants a monochromatic room? Honestly, just buy them some toys for the love of God.

Understandably and as expected, people were quick to criticise the Kardashian-West abode, calling the space cold and “straight out of a horror film”.

But alongside the look into Kim and Kanye’s mansion, Architectural Digest also published a Q&A between the pair. The couple obviously spoke about aspects of their home, but also delved into family life during the 11-minute interview.

People were surprised by the sweet nature of some of Kanye’s responses to Kim about loneliness and his favourite things in their definitely haunted home. But, at the end of the day, Kanye is still Kanye so his ego and weird humour also really shone through.

Honestly, Kanye’s visible disgust over Kim never using their likely very expensive pool and him mocking that they don’t have a jacuzzi has sorta made me love their weird, scary home now.
