Kevin Spacey Is A Cat Called Mr Fuzzypants In This Trailer For A Real Film That Exists

When the film was announced over a year ago, people started getting pretty excited over rumours Kevin Spacey would wear a big ol’ furry cat suit in Nine Lives. But after he brutally crushed those dreams on Twitter, everyone went back to wondering what the hell they were in for. Well, the teaser trailer and detailed plot for the movie dropped yesterday, and… well, I thought it was a hoax.
In the upcoming comedy, Spacey — Oscar-winner and star of the critically-acclaimed political thriller House of Cards — plays a billionaire trapped inside his daughter’s cat, Mr Fuzzypants. It gets better/worse: before he became a cat, he was an arrogant workaholic who didn’t spend enough time with his family. But after buying Fuzzypants from Christopher Walken’s mystical pet store, he has an accident on the way to his daughter’s birthday party that renders him a feline. Now, he’s finding out the hard way that family is priceless, or something.
Basically, someone put Liar Liar, Rob Schneider and a bunch of cat memes into a blender and pressed Maximum White Family Comedy level. It looks extremely cheesy, unoriginal and ridiculous, and I am definitely going to watch it.

Nine Lives will be released in the US and UK August 5 — an Australian release date is yet to be announced.
