Katy Perry’s Pregnancy Announcement Video Is Just Her Straight-Up Screaming Into Camera

Katy Perry has had something of a professionally rocky last few years.
Her last album Witness, a series of thin, Hillary Clinton-inspired club ‘bangers’ was poorly received by both her fanbase and the mainstream critical press at large.
Worse still, the steps that she took to promote it — including allowing herself to be filmed around the clock in a Big Brother-esque stunt — were seen as desperate, and a little confused. The whole thing was a mess, and it was hard to see how Perry would entirely recover from it.
Now, however, Perry is reclaiming the narrative in the best possible way: by releasing a great single.
‘Never Worn White’, the newest song from Perry, is a throwback to her glory days that wisely treats Witness like a confused bump in the road — a diversion, rather than a new path. Simple, compact and endlessly fun, it’s a welcome return to form for a singer who deserved better than what her own marketing team were making her do.
Alongside the song and music video, Perry dropped a different kind of content.
Namely: the popstar is pregnant. And ho boy did she have a wonderful way of announcing it.
Taking to Instagram live to share the news, the musician just straight-up screamed down the camera lens, her eyes wide. It’s kinda art, to be honest, and you should watch it in all of its glorious wonder:
