Kanye West has been dealt another blow to his Australian tour plans, after Scott Morrison doubled down on vaccination entry requirements.

The prime minister has squashed hopes for West’s upcoming Donda stadium concerts if the rapper isn’t fully vaccinated before he enters the country in March.

“The rules are you have to be fully vaccinated,” said Morrison during a press conference on Saturday. “They apply to everybody, as people have seen most recently. It doesn’t matter who you are — they are the rules. Follow the rules, you can come. You don’t follow the rules, you can’t.”

Australia most recently demonstrated its pandemic rule of law in a whirlwind saga with Novak Djokovic. The tennis star had his visa cancelled over disputes to his medical exemption claims ahead of the Australian Open in January, before the decision was overturned in a court hearing against the Federal Government, culminating in Immigration Minister Alex Hawke using his ministerial powers to deport Djokovic back to Serbia a little over a fortnight later.

West has reportedly received at least one dose of a COVID jab last year, but had previously made anti-vax remarks in a 2020 interview with Forbes where he called vaccinations the “mark of the beast”.

The news comes after West was told that the AFL wouldn’t budge their dates for Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, over a clash with the opening night between St Kilda and Collingwood on March 18. Representatives for the hip hop artist have not yet offered comment in response to ScoMo’s warning.

West announced a sequel to his upcoming album Donda 2 via Instagram on Friday, set for release on February 22. It follows its predecessor last August, widely known for being heavily delayed, and a livestream listening party at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

He last performed in Australia in 2014 with his Yeezus Tour in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.
