Everyone Is Dunking On Justin Bieber’s Embarrassing Country Remix Of ‘Yummy’

"I don’t know what’s worse...Justin Bieber’s attempt at a country accent or Florida Georgia Line talk-rapping about Chick-Fil-A and waffle fries."

Justin Bieber has had a strange few months.

The man clearly expected that he might be able to reset his own public narrative, as he had done once before with the song ‘Sorry’ — an apology directed at the entire world disguised as a love ballad. But Changes, his new record, is no ‘Sorry’. Described as being about as erotic as “an airport terminal” by Pitchfork, the album has been savaged by the press, and has had less cultural impact than any Bieber record before it.

Painfully aware of that subdued reception, the singer has today released a ‘country remix’ of his album’s first single, ‘Yummy’. And if you thought the original was anodyne and lifeless, ho boy, get yourself ready for the remix.

A collaboration with Florida Georgia Line, an American country music duo, the remix comes complete with a tacked-on verse about gittin’ ‘er done and riding on horses. It’s a baffling addition to a Drake rip-off about sex, and tips an already chaotic song into pure lurching horror. Listen to the works of Justin Bieber, ye almighty, and despair:

Of course, it’s no real mystery why Bieber has decided to run his worst single through a cowboy hat filter. That was the formula for success for Lil Nas X, who achieved total world domination off the back of one (great) single, and endless remixes of it.

Anyway, the internet isn’t buying Bieber’s shameless cash grab, and have widely decried the limp novelty as exactly that.

The rough times for Bieber clearly aren’t going to end any time soon, then.
