The Internet Has Just Realised ‘Euphoria’s Maude Apatow Has A Famous Dad
"Maude Apatow reaching a level of fame where acclaimed director-writer-producer Judd Apatow is simply referred to as "Maude's Dad" has me spiralling."
There are people in this world who are only now learning that Maude Apatow was birthed by famous parents, and I can only welcome this development.
It all kicked off when the Twitter user @MeriedIsTired tweeted that the Euphoria star, who plays Lexi on the hit show, was a “nepotism baby”, adding that her mom is Leslie Mann and her dad is a “movie director.” As if to add insult to injury, photos of a younger Maude (and her sister Iris) with their parents — Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann — are attached to the tweet.
Wait I just found out that the actress that plays Lexie is a nepotism baby omg ? her mom is Leslie Mann and her dad is a movie director lol pic.twitter.com/s3Mh5QERgC

I can’t help but be a bit envious of the teens who knew of Maude before they knew Judd, so much so that they simply referred to him as a “movie director.” The ‘discovery’ kicked off a whole lot of consternation and anger across Twitter, as millennials once again stared into the abyss of irrelevance.
who tf is Judd Apatow

Leslie Mann getting name recognition while Judd Apatow is called ‘a movie director’ is the respect she deserves ? https://t.co/QGhhLLzqJy

The rest of us had to endure various sittings of The Judd Apatow Fantasy — goofy, weed-smoking men (probably played by Seth Rogen), surrounded by nagging, humourless women (probably Leslie Mann). And yes, I’m still very angry about Knocked Up.
Apatow has since tried to redeem himself with more realistic female characterisation — he greenlit Girls in the early 2010s and more recently created Netflix’s Love, but I can only be pleased that a whole generation doesn’t know who Judd Apatow even is.
