Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express is a classic story; a lush whodunnit, led by Detective Hercule Poirot, which deals in mystery and intrigue.

Since its first publication in 1934, the story’s been retold in many ways. In 1974, it was adapted to film by Sidney Lumet; the characters embodied by greats of the silver screen including Albert Finney, Ingrid Bergman and Sean Connery. From 1989-2013, the lead character was explored in depth through Agatha Christie’s Poirot — a beloved and award-winning British TV series.

Now, in 2017, the story’s latest iteration can be distilled to this surprisingly compelling premise: oooooookay, which one of you weirdos went and killed Johnny Depp?

The first trailer for the upcoming film — directed by Kenneth Branagh, who also stars as an excellently mustachioed Poirot — has just been released, and reaction has been about what you’d expect.

After a series of domestic violence allegations, many movie fans have made their opinion on Johnny Depp well-known. His casting in the Fantastic Beasts franchise was met with particular disappointment. And, though many feel dismayed at his continued casting in major releases, the prospect of seeing him die on-screen is proving a bit more palatable.

This isn’t the only talking point we’ve got from the Murder trailer either. It’s getting widely roasted for its use of Imagine Dragons’ ‘Believer’.

To prove how badly the track clashes with the 1930s European parlour vibes, Reddit users have re-cut the trailer’s final 35 seconds with others including Katy Perry’s ‘I Kissed A Girl’, Shaggy’s ‘It Wasn’t Me’, and more.
