Joe Rogan Fell For A Fake ‘Gruen’ Ad While Trying To Slam Australia’s Pandemic “Propaganda”

In the words of Joe Rogan himself, "I'm not a respected source of information".

In the ultimate self-own, Joe Rogan published an Australian satirical comedy skit to his Instagram page in an attempt to call out Australia’s “propaganda” around COVID-19 and vaccines.

Despite the ABC’s Gruen clip obviously being a giant piss-take, Rogan tried to slam the fake vaccine ad to his 13 million Instagram followers this morning.

“Not only has Australia had the worst reaction to the pandemic with dystopian, police-state measures that are truly inconceivable to the rest of the civilised world, but they also have the absolute dumbest propaganda,” Rogan captioned his video before learning that the 36-second Gruen clip was not a real advertisement.

“EDIT: Apparently this is not a real ad. It’s from a satirical show.”

In the clip, an anti-vaxxer who is going into anaphylactic shock questions the safety and history of the Epipen that’s about to save his life.

“What brand Epipen is that? What’s in it? How long did they research it for? What are the stats from Europe?” the man questions before asking what Joe Rogan’s thoughts are on it first.

“What does Joe Rogan say?” he continues as he starts losing consciousness. “Call Joe.”

“We don’t question the science when our life depends on it, so why question it when millions of lives depend on it?” the Gruen voiceover concludes. “Science has our backs. Get the vax.”

Now, surely anyone with more than two brain cells could instantly tell that the 36-second clip was not an official government ad.

Realistically, why the hell would the Australian government ever make reference to Joe Rogan — an American podcaster, who literally used Ivermectin AKA horse paste to “cure” his COVID diagnosis in September — in their official pro-vaccination messaging?

But Rogan blindly sharing the “ad” without even doing one quick Google search to verify its validity first proves the exact problem the sketch calls out: People, fuelled by a lack of research and no reliable sources, spreading misinformation online.

A truly beautiful self-own, really.

Though none of this is actually all that surprising. Joe Rogan has been waiting for a way to insert himself into the conversation about Australia’s COVID protocols for ages.

Prior to Candace Owens trying to weaponise Australia’s lockdown strategies as a modern example of tyranny, Rogan was ranting about the “army trying to keep people inside in Australia” back in August.

On The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, which has an estimated audience of 11 million per episode, Rogan called Australia “crazy” for its response to COVID.

“There’s some crazy shit going on right now, where the army is trying to keep people inside in Australia,” he said during the episode while chatting with North Korean defector and human rights activist, Yeonmi Park.

“They have full-on government lockdowns where the government is flying helicopters over streets saying ‘go back indoors, you’re not allowed outside’.”

Thankfully, we’ll always have Joe Rogan’s own words to go by whenever he starts spouting his ridiculous statements regarding COVID and Australia again: “I’m not a doctor. I’m not a respected source of information, even for me”.
