Jimmy Kimmel Asked Americans To Find North Korea On A Map And It Did Not Go Well
"The scariest part about North Korea is it could be anywhere."
One of the biggest talking points in global politics over the last couple of days has been the increased tension between North Korea and the United States.
On Tuesday, President Donald Trump told reporters that Kim Jong-un’s dictatorship would face “fire and fury like the world has never seen” if it continued to threaten America. In response, the North Korean military announced it was “carefully considering” a missile attack on the US Pacific territory of Guam.
Meanwhile, a recent CNN poll found that almost two-thirds of Americans viewed North Korea as a very serious threat.
But while more and more Americans are concerned about the rogue nation, it turns out a whole lot of them still don’t actually know where it is. On a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the talk show host sent a camera crew out onto Hollywood boulevard to see how many people could locate North Korea on a map, and I think you all know where this is going.
The good news is that a decent number of respondents knew North Korea was *somewhere* in Asia. The bad news is that at least two of them would have sent ground troops to Australia by mistake.
For what it’s worth, the Chaser team pulled a similar stunt back in the CNNNN days. That’s the thing about making fun of Americans though, it never goes out of style.
