Tributes are pouring in online for actor and comedian Jerry Stiller, who has passed from natural causes, aged 92. The news was announced by Stiller’s son, Ben Stiller.

“I’m sad to say that my father, Jerry Stiller, passed away from natural causes,” he shared on Twitter. “He was a great dad and grandfather, and the most dedicated husband to Anne for about 62 years. He will be greatly missed. Love you Dad.”

Jerry Stiller is best known for his role as Frank Constanza on Seinfeld, and would later star in The King Of Queens, for its nine-season run. He is also known for his scene-stealing scenes in films, often alongside his son, such as Zoolander, Anchorman and both film versions of Hairspray.

Earlier in his career, Stiller and his wife of 62 years Anne Meara performed together as a successful comedic duo, Stiller And Meara, and were repeat guests on The Ed Sullivan Show.

With the news, tributes instantly flooded Twitter, as fans reflect on the comedian’s long-standing presence in their life, or share sweet stories of the actor. In one, sitcom writer Frank Connif called Stiller “literally the nicest man I ever met in show business”.
