“I just want to thank all the evil gays” will probably live rent free in my head for the rest of the year. Of course, anything Jennifer Coolidge does stays in my mind for a very long time.

In accepting her Emmy win for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, Jennifer Coolidge made sure to thank those who have lifted her up during her career (and haunted her in The White Lotus). Of course I’m talking about evil gays. I’ve never felt more seen during an awards show than this moment.

If you didn’t watch Season 2 of The White Lotus, you’re missing out. Jennifer played the iconic role of Tanya McQuoid, who met her demise after a confrontation with the gays she thought were trying to murder her. Notable scenes involve her begging “please, do you know these gays?” and “these gays are trying to kill me”. Truly great stuff.

Jennifer seems to have a habit of being played off during her acceptance speeches because she talks too much. She mentioned that last time she had “the hook” come out and take her away but she didn’t learn her lesson because Anthony Anderson’s mum held up a clock sign saying she was out of time. I say let women speak, especially if that woman is Jennifer Coolidge.

There’s something magnetic about Jennifer, who somehow manages to become the star of almost every awards show. At the 2022 Golden Globes Awards she referred to it as the Oscars and then complained that the gong was too heavy because “I don’t work out”. That’s probably why she put the Emmy down during her speech this year. The bottom line is this: we need Jennifer Coolidge to star in something every year so she can get nominated for an award, then win, then give an incredible speech.
