Depending on your feelings about Sorkinisms, The Newsroom‘s coverage of real-world events was either its biggest strength or most annoying flaw. Neal hanging out with the founders of the Occupy movement as a couple of Cool Young Kids Changing The World; the words “Casey Anthony” being treated in the same way as “Voldemort”; and most notably, The Osama Episode. The tone of each — equal parts idealistic and badgering — pretty much pissed off every journalist in the world.

Jeff Daniels was invited onto Bloomberg Politics yesterday to discuss his latest film (shh, I don’t know why) and the adorably dorky hosts encouraged him to re-create his first “viral” scene from The Newsroom. The question “why is America the greatest country in the world” was changed to “why is Donald Trump the best-case scenario for Hillary Clinton” and yeah, it went about how you’d expect.
