In news that will bring a smile to any old Recovery fan, Channel Nine has announced they’re bringing a brand new live music show to our screens next month.

It’s called Jam Live, and it will feature live performances recorded at venues and festivals around Adelaide and South Australia. It won’t just feature South Australian acts though — the show’s presenter and producer Shenelle Franklin has flagged that it will aim to showcase plenty of touring artists.

Jam Live will be showing not just local artists but touring artists as well,” Franklin told Music Feeds.  “The show is designed just as much for the venues and festivals as it is for the artists and bands. We aim to showcase live music, be a fly on the wall and capture the magic for the viewer.

“More importantly, we want to open their ears to music they may not have heard before. It is designed to get people excited about live music and back into supporting the local artists, the touring artists and of course the venues and festivals who put these artists on.”

The first season will be made up of five half-hour episodes, with performances from Regurgitator, San Cisco, Tired Lion, West Thebarton, Dean Lewis, Josh Cashman and Boo Seeka.

Jam Live premieres on Channel Nine Adelaide on Saturday, June 30 at 4.30pm (it’ll be available Australia-wide through 9Now on demand.) To get you in the mood, here’s a classic performance from the most iconic of all music shows, Recovery
