Less than a week after JB Smoove (who plays Leon on the show) casually leaked the fact that Larry David was throwing the idea around, we now have confirmation: Curb Your Enthusiasm is coming back for its ninth season.

I’ll take any bet this quote is all over your Facebook feed.

The news was announced overnight by president of HBO programming, Casey Bloys, in a post on the channel’s official Medium account. “We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of Curb and can’t wait to see what he has planned,” he said. David himself then added: “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.'”

It’s been five years since the eighth season of Curb aired and things have been up in the air ever since. In a 2014 chat with Grantland‘s Bill Simmons, David said the odds of a return were “six to one” against it ever happening. “I got so much grief from the Seinfeld finale, which a lot of people intensely disliked, that I no longer feel a need to wrap things up,” he said. “I wouldn’t say I’m mad about it, but it taught me a lesson that if I ever did another show, I wasn’t gonna wrap it up.”

I don’t know what that means for this latest season, but I can’t wait to see.
