Rugby Star Israel Folau Has Come Under Fire For Posting More Homophobic Garbage Online
This isn't the first time he's said offensive shit on the internet.
Rugby union star Israel Folau has come under fire after declaring on social media that gay people are going to hell.
The Wallabies player, who is a devout Christian, made the remarks in the comments below an Instagram post after one of his more than 330,000 followers asked him “what gods [sic] plan for gay people” is.
“HELL.. Unless they repent of their sins and turn to God,” Folau replied.
Doesn’t quite fit with Israel Folau’s “I love and respect all people for who they are and their opinions” line from last year. pic.twitter.com/A023XnxRBd

Folau last courted controversy during the marriage equality postal survey, when he tweeted “I love and respect all people for who they are and their opinions but personally, I will not support gay marriage”.
His latest comments sparked an immediate backlash online.
Does @Qantas or the @qantaswallabies have any comments on @IzzyFolau stating that all gay people are going to hell. Is that a core belief of Qantas and the Wallabies?

This is disgusting. Israel Folau has thousands of fans, kids that look up to him – and he chooses to use that publicity to make sure that the LGBTQI+ kids of Australia know that he reckons they should go to hell. Hey Australia maybe time to get better sporting heroes aye https://t.co/j2bhd20IFH

Drake – “God’s plan” > Israel Folau “God’s plan”

Rugby Australia has since distanced itself from Folau’s remarks, insisting that “his views do not reflect ours, we do not support them. We support all forms of inclusion, whether it is race, gender or sexuality”.
