Sharon Strzelecki Has Dusted Off Her Netball Outfit For The Healthcare Workers ‘Iso Dance’
“Noice, strong, courageous."
As healthcare workers become the nations unsung heroes, Australian netball superstar Sharon Strzelecki has decided to dust off the uniform one more time to pay tribute to them.
Yesterday, Kath & Kim actor Magda Szubanski shared the ‘Iso Dance’ to social media as a tribute to the healthcare workers on the frontline who are battling COVID-19.
“Noice, strong, courageous,” Magda captioned the video. “A special Sharon shout out to all our healthcare workers, on the frontline and behind the scenes.”
Dancing in full netball gear alongside superstars from Footscray Hospital, Prahran East Medical Centres, Ambulance Victoria and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospitals, Sharon sings her take on ‘Tainted Love’ by Soft Cell.
Changing the lyrics of ‘Tainted Love’ to ‘COVID Bug’, Sharon injects the parody with a bunch of her iconic lines.
“Sometimes I feel I’ve got to run away. I’ve got to get away from the bugs you drive into the heart of me, the germs you share seem to go everywhere and I don’t think it’s noice because then I toss and turn and I can’t sleep at night,” Sharon sings. “This COVID bug you’ve given, you even took my PP equipment, take your temperature and go and stand in the hall, COVID bug.”
The video comes as Australians face their third official week of lockdown to control the spread of COVID-19. With the number of cases across the country surpassing 6,000, healthcare workers risk their health every day to treat those infected.
So do your part: Wash your hands, stay home and do the ‘Iso Dance’ indoors to help flatten the curve.
