Honest Trailers Took On ‘Labyrinth’ Solely To Pay Tribute To David Bowie’s Jareth The Goblin King
The man. The hair. The bulge.
People have dealt with the death of David Bowie in various ways. His final album, Blackstar, was his first album to debut at No. 1 on the US Billboard chart, a constellation in the shape of a lightning bolt was named after him, and I’d bet the house against five bucks that millions of temporary passwords this month are some variation of ‘Starman’.
In that spirit, the good folk at Honest Trailers decided to pay homage to Bowie via the one means available to them: namely, by taking on Labyrinth, the bizarre 1986 kids’ movie that explored puberty, fantasy, and the logical consequences of making a movie on a convoy-load of drugs. Despite the cult movie getting mixed reviews at the time, Bowie’s turn as Jareth the Goblin King is remembered as a powerful, unsettling performance that stands the test of time, as well as the costume that introduced millions of children to the concept of the Bulge.

I mean.
Thirty years on, and ‘Magic Dance’ is still the greatest goblin-featuring music video of all time. Do not debate me on this.
