Here’s Your First Look At Bill Hader As The New Captain In ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’
He's been called a "borderline lunatic". And that's coming from Andy Samberg.
With Andy Samberg, Chelsea Peretti, Terry Crews and Joe Lo Truglio, Brooklyn Nine-Nine already had one of the funniest casts on TV; now Bill freaking Hader’s on board. As was announced last month, the comedian will be joining his former SNL bud as the “severely anal-retentive” Captain Seth Dozerman.
Today, we have our first look:
Though Fox hasn’t yet announced how long Hader will be involved with the show, it definitely doesn’t seem like a permanent gig. In fact, before the casting announcement, showrunner and co-creator Dan Goor told The Hollywood Reporter that Captain Holt would only be leaving the Nine-Nine for the beginning of the season and will still be very much involved in the story. After a few weeks in the NYPD public relations department, it’s hard to imagine he wouldn’t be gunning for his job back.
Regardless, Hader will be great while he lasts. Andy Samberg told Entertainment Weekly overnight his co-star is “funny as hell” and plays a “borderline lunatic”. “It was great to see Bill and work together again,” he said. “It’s basically ‘Laser Cats’ set in the past with a way bigger budget.”
If you have no idea what he’s talking about there, congratulations. Your day just got a whole lot better:
