Halsey Called Out A Dickhead Who Wouldn’t Stop Screaming Her Ex’s Name
"If you say G-Eazy one more fucking time I'm going to kick you the fuck out of the building."
It must be wild being Halsey.
Imagine it. You’re a one-time One Direction stan who literally wrote songs about how Harry Styles would have a better time dating you than Taylor Swift. Your debut record defines a generation of pop songwriting. And then, you’re standing at a concert, drinking in the crowd, and some asshole starts shouting your ex-boyfriend’s name at you.
Nobody has ever shouted the name of an ex at me, let alone while standing in extremely close vicinity at the top of their voice. If they did, depending on the ex, I might variously: cry, scream, laugh, and/or collapse to the ground, suddenly overwhelmed with flashbacks to the sheer horror that was my three-month long relationship with someone who spent a lot of time listing the ways they’d be able to stalk me if I broke up with them.
But when that exact scenario happened to Halsey, she did none of those things. Instead, she firmly and impressively shut them the fuck down.
See, Halsey was in the middle of giving a speech about self-empowerment when a random punter standing but a few feet away started bellowing, ‘G-Eazy’. G-Eazy (real name: Gerald) and Halsey dated for a little while, writing and releasing songs together. So, it was an obnoxious choice to shout that particular name, designed entirely to hurt the pop star.
So she hit back.

“If you say G-Eazy one more fucking time I’m going to kick you the fuck out of the building,” the singer said, before identifying the culprit and making it very clear that she was not messing around.
As she bloody well has every right to.
