Earlier this week, Amazon Prime announced that the cult-fantasy series, Good Omens will be getting a season 2 and maybe life isn’t so bad, after all.

Good Omens‘ first season was based on the best-selling novel, Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Neil Gaiman and the late Sir Terry Pratchett. The divinely epic comedy follows Aziraphale and Crowley, an angel and demon who are trying to prevent the end of the world after accidentally misplacing the anti-Christ.

Most notably the series adapted from the novel gained considerable notoriety after a large group of angry Christians petitioned Netflix to cancel it for blasphemy and anti-Christian propaganda. There was just one problem, Good Omens is famously not a Netflix series.

The novel was adapted into a limited (or so we thought) series by author, Neil Gaiman for Amazon Prime, starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen as the series’ main duo. Being a singular novel, fans only wished, hoped and dreamed of a second series. Until now.

In both a tweet and a longer blog post, Neil Gaiman announced that Good Omens would be getting a second season. Gaiman explained that the second series would be based on conversations and copious notes both he and Sir Terry Pratchett kept on a planned but unpublished second novel.

Both the book and series are beloved for their divine quirky nihilism, epic apocalyptic scope, and raging queer subtext between the story’s leads. I mean, the concept art for season 2 already had fans sobbing with joy. And by fans I mean me.

Production is set to begin on the series in July in Scotland, with post-production set for October according to Amazon Prime’s job availabilities. David Tennant and Michael Sheen will also be reprising their iconic roles.

Season one of Good Omens is available to stream on Amazon Prime.
