Giveaway! Win VIP Tickets To A Preview Screening Of ‘The Martian’
Witness Matt Damon's eternal pain and suffering in style.
Did Gravity leave you hankering for more nightmarish vision of tiny bodies hurtling hopelessly through space terrified and alone? Did Interstellar pique your interest in the idea of a bobblehead Matt Damon doing a one-man show on a mysterious and desolate planet which is unable to support human life? If so, I’m pretty sure you’re missing the point of both those films. But also, you might enjoy The Martian!
Continuing on with Hollywood’s persisting fascination with space, director Ridley Scott (who knows a thing or two about the genre) is giving us the story of astronaut Mark Watney: an affable young chap played by Matt Damon who accidentally gets himself stranded on a hostile planet in the middle of nowhere. Based on the 2011 novel of the same name, The Martian follows Watney as he attempts to get messages back to NASA, seeks rescue from his crew, and generally tries to MacGyver his way to survival.
With a bunch of famous faces along for the ride — including Jeff Daniels, Donald Glover, Kate Mara, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Kristen Wiig — the whole thing looks to be 130 minutes of white-hot anxiety and fun. And sadness!
We have a bunch of double passes to give away to VIP preview screenings happening all around the country. Valued at $100 a pop, these tickets will make you among the first people to see the film in Australia.
As a taste of this, here’s a brand new clip of Matt Damon readying himself for the big day. Poor little guy doesn’t know what’s comin’ for him.
