As Girls races towards its final episode, throwing narrative bombs in their wake like banana peels in Mario Kart, the cast have been doing the media circuit discussing the controversial show’s lasting legacy.
Last night this took them to Jimmy Kimmel Live, where Lena Dunham, Jemima Kirke, Allison Williams and Zosia Mamet dressed up like the Golden Girls and played out a very surreal (and very long) scene as their Girls characters in 50 years. The best bit is the appearance of Elijah (Andrew Rannells), who has not aged thanks to”oil of Olay and boxed wine”.
“Hey slut dumpsters,” he says. “I’ve got Ensure and ecstasy — who wants to party until we crap ourselves?”
Hm. Okay!
