A Close Analysis Of The New ‘Gilmore Girls’ Revival Photos
I think it's time to lose the cap, Luke Danes.
Turn off The Brady Bunch Variety Hour, stop reading Dead Souls and and make sure you don’t get hit by any deers on your way to get takeout from Al’s Pancake World — the Gilmore Girls revival is almost here!
Well, we think so. The new four-part miniseries is planned for release on Netflix sometime this year, but we don’t have an exact date yet. What we do have, is constant updates about the ever-increasing cast (Yay, Jason Styles! Boo, still no Sookie!) and speculation about what the famous final four words of the show will be (creator Amy Sherman-Palladino originally planned to end the series with a particular line, but left the show before the final season). Rory aka Alexis Bledel said of the last line: “it kind of, hmm, it does kind of throw you”
Now thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we’ve got some set photos from the upcoming season. Close analysis below:
Rory is standing at the front of a classroom, which must mean that she’s a teacher now and has given up writing for “online magazines”. According to the blackboard she is teaching Jane Eyre, but maybe this is clue indicating that this is all just a dream, and she’s really locked in an attic.
LUKE AND LORELAI ARE HOLDING HANDS, THEY’RE STILL TOGETHER! LUKE IS STILL INSISTING ON WEARING A BACKWARDS BASEBALL CAP, IT’S KIND OF CREEPY NOW!
Emily Gilmore appears to have made a deal with Satan in exchange for eternal youth. She looks smiley here — hopefully because she’s just delivered a sick burn to one of her ever-changing maids — but we know that the revival will deal with the real-life death of Edward Herrmann, who played her husband Richard.
A Stars Hollow Musical! Will the performance rival ‘Buckle Up on Miss Patty’? Or the Festival of Living Art? Or a ‘A Film By Kirk’? Only time will tell. Meanwhile, Babette and Miss Patty look adorable and Rory looks like she probably does belong in a crazy attic.
