Behold Gifpop!, “a tool to make custom cards from animated GIFs” using the magical powers of lenticular printing, which is basically the old-school technology that created those shiny Tazo things that were never coolRachel Binx and Sha Hwang, the design/tech wizards behind the project (and, previously, some other cool-sounding project called Meshu, which makes customised jewellery from all the places you’ve travelled), have just reached their Kickstarter goal and announced that they’ll be opening up shop soon.

Uh yeah, whatever. All you really need to know is that Gifpop! will make GIFs a 3D reality, signalling an end to all your gift-giving and message-writing woes. According to the project’s website, the cost of a custom card will range from $10-$18, and the final print will end up looking something like this:
