Over on Twitter, queer men are sharing the specific pop-culture moment, character or show that first ‘awoke’ them to their sexuality, and it’s quite a journey.

Using a picture of Miranda Cosgrove looking quietly pleased and saying “interesting” to herself, people are sharing images of everything from Billy Baldwin to Tony Soprano and Jonny Knoxville.

It’s no surprise that Joel Schumacher’s two Batman films were cited by several people, considering they’re the campest, most decadently gay blockbusters of the ’90s.

Former Teen Vogue editor Phillip Picardi shared photos of a shirtless Usher and Chris Evans alongside Halle Berry in Catwoman, which was a bit of a spanner, but he said he “figured it out eventually!!!”.

For Australians of a certain age, they might remember a black and white ad for Lacoste from 2002, where a male model lounges around his house completely nude. As Adam Moussa writes, it “taught me how to remain stone-faced and seemingly disinterested while internally screaming”.
