We knew that when Sydney’s Gang Of Youths stepped up for their latest Like A Version, it would be special.

After all, the last time the band covered a song in the triple j studios, they came away with one of the best LAV’s of all time: a bruising cover of LCD Soundsystem’s ‘All My Friends’.

But even with expectations already sky-high, Gang Of Youths managed to knock it out of the park — by turning The Middle Easts devastating 2010 folk track ‘Blood’ into a heart-cracking rock anthem.

Moments before playing the cover, GOY frontman David Le’aupepe took the time to address breakfast host Liam Stapleton’s recent on-air speech about his mental health, telling the duo: “I personally believe you are worthy successors to this job.”
