We’re Equally Delighted And Terrified By This ‘Game Of Thrones’ And ‘Neverending Story’ Mash-Up

It's the Luckdragon filled massacre you never knew you needed.

Game Of Thrones is a television show about a bunch of murderous, incestuous and thoroughly pale people dressed in medieval Hot Topic outfits fighting over an iron stool.

By contrast, The Neverending Story is a 1984 fantasy children’s film in which a young, reasonably irritating boy named Bastian befriends a Luckdragon named Falkor and a horse named Artax that absolutely nothing bad happens to, no sirree, all while trying to save the world from a mysterious force known as The Nothing.

As might be evident then, the two pieces of pop culture are pretty different. Both might have vaguely olde timey settings, but The Neverending Story presents a world that gets about as dangerous as a trip through a spooky swamp, whereas in Game Of Thrones, people are not satisfied unless they have murdered six of their enemies before breakfast time.

However, the differences have not stopped Huw Parkinson, the genius behind a range of pop culture mash-ups, from combining them into a delicious, grey-tinged stew. Feast your eyes on this:

The clip makes clear what so many of us have long suspected — Falkor of The Neverending Story might present nice and cuddly, but he is in fact a vicious, cold-blooded murderer, capable of dispatching you and everyone that you love.

Here’s to hoping that the finale of Game Of Thrones, hitting our screens in but a few months, also features a Luckdragon cameo.
