The Internet Is Having A Lot Of Fun Making Memes Out Of This Daenerys Targaryen Face
The "per my last email" face.
As far as Game of Thrones characters go, Daenerys Targaryen is, despite being a fan favourite, one of the more dour figures in Westeros.
This is by design. Daenerys has very serious business to attend to, after all, and her life so far hasn’t exactly been a walk in the park — her brother got horrendously murdered by her husband, who in turn was himself killed, and literally every single person in Westeros is keen to get their hands on her extremely powerful dragons.
Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, it turns out that she’s banging her nephew. So yeah. Shit sucks, sometimes, if you’re Daenerys Targaryen.
Because of that, whenever Daenerys Targaryen has a moment of levity or lightness, it’s lapped up by fans. Such a moment of levity came in the form of a chat between Daenerys and Sansa Stark in the second episode of the eighth season. Amidst lots of brooding, and talk of the very safe, definitely not extremely dangerous crypts, the two women took a little time and talked.
And, in the process, Daenerys made this face.

I mean, really the article should just end here, because there’s nothing that could top that incredible still.
But, because the internet is the internet, the image has been resolutely and thoroughly memed, becoming everything from the face that you use when replying to shitty emails from that co-worker that you hate, from the expression you deploy when you haven’t heard what someone’s said and you’ve officialy run out of opportunities to say, ‘Pardon?’

So there you have it — for all of the very serious, kingdom-ruling business that Daenerys has ahead of her, never let it be said that she’s not up for a bit of memeing and tomfoolery.
Game of Thrones returns to our screens next Monday, April 29.
