Daenerys And Ser Davos Are Blaming Each Other For That Coffee Cup On Monday’s ‘Game Of Thrones’
"What a bastard! I don't even drink Starbucks."
It’s the greatest mystery in Game of Thrones history, bigger than Jon Snow’s real mother or the origins of the Night King. Every fan wants to know: who was responsible for that coffee cup?
In case you missed it, a takeaway coffee cup was clearly visible on the table in front of Daenerys during the feast scene in the latest episode of the HBO series. The network has since digitally removed the offending beverage, but not before Starbucks got an estimated $2.3 billion worth of free advertising from the error.
After the episode went to air, actor Liam Cunningham, aka Ser Davos Seaworth, appeared on Conan and promptly threw his castmate Emilia Clarke under the bus.
“Emilia probably drinks too much coffee,” he joked, while presenting host Conan O’Brien with what he claimed was the actual cup.
When Clarke heard about this, she was not impressed.
“What a bastard!” she laughed during a recent interview with The Los Angeles Times. “I don’t even drink Starbucks. I have no idea whose it was. Liam’s a cheeky one.”
Clarke went on to insist that she is actually more of a tea drinker, and that Cunningham was probably trying to shift suspicion away from himself.
“I’ll bet it was Liam,” she said. “He’s deflecting it — 100%. Like I said, he’s a cheeky one.”
