Taylor Swift’s new record ‘folklore’ is a misty-eyed indie landscape, more aligned to those ‘indie records’ she was singing about in earlier songs than anything in her back catalogue.

Produced by The National’s Aaron Dessner, with a feature from the King Of The Beards himself Bon Iver, it isn’t the bombastic pop that peppered 1989 and Reputation; we can’t imagine folklore getting its own stadium tour.

But, can you dance to it? Of course not, you scream, tugging your woollen blanket around you while staring out at a foggy moor waiting for Heathcliff to return. Madness! You say.

Well, resident online funnyman Benito Skinner — you might know him as @bennydrama7 — thinks you can, and gave the world a handy demonstration of just how to get down to Swift’s single ‘cardigan’. Please feast your eyes below.

Truly magnificent.

Folkore continues to smash records left, right, and centre. It’s already racked up the most streams in 24 albums for a pop album on Apple Music ever, and Swift has also set the record for the most album streams by a female artist in 24 hours on Spotify — with a whopping 79.4 million listens. It’s on track to easily land at #1 on Billboard, and will most likely secure the biggest first week for an album in 2020. Not bad at all.
