Eight Australian Films That Prove We Can Do Pretty Great Sci-Fi
'The Infinite Man' is just the latest of a pretty stellar run of Australian sci-fi movies.
Griff the Invisible (2010)
A socially awkward office worker (played by Ryan Kwanten) believes himself to be a superhero, patrolling the streets of his inner-city home (Surry Hills, the home of Junkee!) unaware that his presence is frightening as many people as it is helping.
It’s a delusion that deepened when he meets the woman of his dreams. Blending superhero shenanigans with melancholy portrayals of mental illness may not sound like a good time, but the feature debut of actor Leon Ford is a wonderfully inventive film about the strength of our own imaginations and determination.
