Drew Barrymore has been given a talk show, and people are obsessed with the absolute unhinged chaotic energy she is bringing to the screen. 

Before I begin, I wish to state that I love Drew Barrymore. From being a troubled child star to perfecting roles in ‘Scream’, ‘Charlie’s Angels’, ‘The Wedding Singer’, and ‘Santa Clarita Diet’, just to name a few, she is an icon. That is the generous spirit in which I believe we should this new development in her career.

In September, Drew started a talk show called ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’, which the website described as “optimism TV, bringing information, inspiration, and entertainment to the daytime audience this fall.” And look, there is no denying that what you are about to watch is certainly optimistic and entertaining, in a way.

After only about 10 episodes of the show, entertainment journalist Keaton Bell tweeted a clip package from the show, calling it ‘post-realism.’ It is only 1 minute and 40 seconds long, but it is chock full of screaming, segments like ‘taco newsday’, and a story about snake sex. It is pure chaos, it is unhinged, it is a fever dream, and I…..love it. Please watch.

Okay, take a second to recuperate. You’re safe. Almost as good as the show itself has been the reaction to it, with people theorising about exactly what it reminds them of.

Comedians have also jumped on board, with Kylie Brakeman paying tribute to the full python sex clip.

It’s all very funny, and I am 100% on board for any silly and wild and chaotic thing that brings levity to 2020, so yet again we can only declare our love for Drew.
