Meanwhile On Triple J, Dr. Karl Has Become A Daggy Hype Man For Ebony Boadu’s Breakfast Mix
If you needed any more proof the simulation is melting, here's Dr. Karl saying "Yo, this is tooo lit".
On Tuesday, triple j leant hard into 2020’s mad-libs energy, as DJ Ebony Boadu enlisted Dr. Karl to be the world’s most endearing hype man for a breakfast mix that also included Tiger King‘s Carole Baskin and everyone’s favourite anti-internet piracy ad.
With regular Breakfast hosts Sally and Erica taking some leave, Boadu and Bryce Mills are filling for the next two weeks — and evidently, they’re taking advantage of the situation by creating whatever the hell they want.
Mills challenged Boadu to make a Breakfast Mix with some listener-requested inclusions, which ended up being a Baskin addition, the iconic “you wouldn’t steal a car” ad, samples from a ‘bored at home’ TikTok and YouTube pranker E Cig99 — and finally, Dr. Karl. Why not?
The six-minute mix is worth a listen without the additions, as Boadu jumps between Leiklei 47, Missy Elliot, Fisher and Crystal Waters. But add to that Dr. Karl saying “Yo Ebony, this is too lit”, and you’ve got a must-listen — or a must destroy, depending on your mileage.
Other highlights include Dr Karl saying “Sorry for swearing, but I need everyone to put their blooping hairs up” and the dad energy of telling Boadu to shut down the mix because the mixers are overheating.
