Ever since the release of Disney+, adults have been rewatching their favourite shows from their childhood.

And, I mean, why wouldn’t you? All the classics are thereHannah MontanaKim Possible, DuckTales, Recess and even the iconic Jo-Bro show, Jonas.

However, one of the best ’00s shows on the new streaming app is That’s So Raven — the story of Raven Baxter and her ability to see into the future.

Raven Really Is The Nasty One

From it’s original release, That’s So Raven has always skewed a little older than other Disney classics. I mean, Raven’s catchphrase is “Ya nasty” after all.

When the show was released in 2003, so many references just went over our heads. But as adults people have started to pick up on some rather questionable moments from the kids show.

One moment in particular has gone viral after being shared by Twitter user, @inyobitchcloset.

The scene comes from ‘The Dating Shame‘ episode of the series, where Raven is on set of a dating show called TermiDate. I don’t really know why these teens would be on a dating show at all, but they just are. Raven calls Chad a “freak” after finding out that he “loves a girl with a big appetite.”

Then there’s the scene where Raven fakes being her boyfriend’s dad’s bride to prevent her boyfriend from moving away. In a scene that went totally over our heads, Raven reveals that “she’s only 15” and someone in the room says “Who is this? R. Kelly?”

It’s Not Just Disney

As Disney+ gained more and more attention, others online decided to revisit other classics from Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.

One tweet about the movie Harriet The Spy went viral for Harriet absolutely dragging her bully, Marion. In a scathing read, Harriet went in on Marion by calling her a liar and telling her that her dad didn’t love her.

As kids we didn’t even bat an eye at this scene — we didn’t pick up on the savageness and directness of Harriet’s speech, and we definitely didn’t stan little Harriet the way we do now.

These missed jokes and moments from our youth was also fairly common in cartoons. Like with the infamous booty-eating scene from Hey Arnold! that goes viral at least once a year.

Let’s not even get started with Nickelodeon’s characterisation of Helga.

Looking back, everything about The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy was pretty damn filthy too.

Basically, no show you loved as a kid is safe anymore.
