Since the outbreak of quarantine, Delta Goodrem has been working overtime, doing the Lord’s work and bringing us some of the finest entertainment of her entire career.

She’s been hosting The Voice. She dropped ‘Keep Climbing’, one of the most accomplished and original singles of her entire career. Oh, and she’s been releasing her own ‘The Bunker Down Sessions’, AKA livestreamed mini-gigs in which Goodrem, backed by a guitar and sometimes playing the piano, takes on iconic covers.

In the past, such covers have been wry and enjoyably tongue-in-cheek, with the highlight being her take on the theme song to beloved sitcom The Nanny.

But yesterday, to celebrate the beginning of Pride, Delta changed tact, and dropped some of the most sensitive and heartfelt covers of the entire experiment.

Starting with Donna Summer’s ‘I Feel Love’, transitioning through ‘It’s Raining Men’ and Katy Perry’s ‘I Kissed A Girl’, Goodrem eventually blew the roof off with a version of Cher’s ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’.

Truly, it’s the Pride surprise we have all been waiting for.
