In 1963, Andy Williams rode into a studio lot on a sleigh pulled by a small dejected pony and called December “the most wonderful time of the year”. I can see why he thought that. As he was in North America, it was snowing. As he had just written a Christmas song, he was about to get extremely rich.

But, in present-day Australia, December feels less like the “most wonderful time of the year” than it does “that time our hair gets real frizzy again and we all get crushed by societal and familial obligations to stress about our personal lives”. What are you getting that random co-worker for Secret Santa?
