David Letterman Briefly Came Out Of Retirement Specifically To Call Donald Trump An Idiot
"During sex, Donald Trump calls out his own name."
Besides being horrendously offensive to Mexican people and wigmakers everywhere, Donald Trump’s Presidential campaign announcement is providing comedians and talk-show hosts with a wealth of new material — Jon Stewart in particular has publicly thanked Trump for making his last days as the Daily Show host as enjoyable as possible.
But David Letterman, who retired from television earlier this year after more than three decades on-screen, just missed out on all the fun. In a special one-off guest appearance at San Antonio’s Majestic Theater with Steve Martin and Martin Short a few days ago, Letterman said of his retirement: “I have no regrets. None. I was happy. I was complacent, I was satisfied, I was content. And then a couple days ago Donald Trump said he was running for President. I have made the biggest mistake of my life, ladies and gentlemen.”
Reprising his classic Top Ten list segment, Letterman briefly came out of retirement for the sole purpose of calling Trump an idiot in various creative ways. It was immensely satisfying.
