Daphne And Ethan Obviously Had Sex On That Island

I think we can all agree that Daphne (Meghann Fahy) is White Lotus Season 2’s unofficial main character. She duped us all by cosplaying as the forgettable ditz early in the season, until we realised she was playing the long con. Plus, she seems like the only one who actually enjoyed the vacation. 

Her conversation with Ethan (Will Sharpe) is the pièce de résistance of the series finale (though Tanya’s, uh, stunt is a close second). But one question remains: did she and Ethan have sex on Isola Bella? 

Personally, I think it’s pretty clear that they did, and here’s why: 

You Don’t Have To Know Everything To Love Someone

One of the first of Daphne’s alluring hints disguised as advice; she tells Ethan that you don’t have to know everything about someone, like what they think or what they do, to love them. Even Ethan’s caveman brain is starting to connect the dots here, surely.

Oop, she said the word! Ethan’s getting it now.

I Surprise Myself All The Time

Looping herself back into the conversation, Daphne masterfully gets Ethan to think about sex, then herself. This is some Pavlovian level flirting here, and I respect it. 

Do Whatever You Have To Do Not To Feel Like A Victim Of Life

She wraps up her speech with a classic Call To Action — the hallmark of an effective campaign strategy. You heard her, Ethan. Do what you’ve gotta do.

I Rest My Case

Ethan is a simple man. And Daphne is a gorgeous woman, who asked him to accompany her to a secluded Italian island after telling him that a little mystery never hurt anyone.

I also suspect that the single tear artfully rolling down Harper’s face at dinner might be a result of Harper admitting she slept with Cameron, and Ethan admitting he slept with Daphne. Or perhaps neither! Maybe they had a bad entree and both kept their secrets to themselves. Either way, it seemed to crack whatever weird energy was blocking their terrible physical chemistry. Who are we to judge what works for someone’s relationship?

And you know what? It makes sense to me. If you have a marital problem as insane as not being attracted to your beautiful and intelligent wife who looks like Aubrey Plaza, then you probably need an unorthodox and forceful solution.
