Liberal politicians in Victoria have been shut down for starting a conspiracy around Premier Dan Andrews’ back injuries that have kept him out of office for over 90 days while he recovers.
Andrews has been on extended leave since March after slipping on stairs at a holiday home, severely injuring his ribs and spine.
On Monday, Shadow Treasurer Louise Staley released a statement sparking doubt around the incident, asking for details concerning the address of the house where he fell, who owns it, when the ambulance arrived, and how the police were involved.
“These are the questions Daniel Andrews must answer before he comes back to work,” wrote Staley.

“This is how the Liberal party treat people,” said Acting Premier James Merlino in response. “No decency. No respect. They should be ashamed of themselves.”
“Anyone who has had a serious back injury knows how painful it is and how long the recovery is.”
