As America, and the world, finds itself caught up in the vortex of one of the most endlessly vicious presidential races in living memory, it’s important to cling on to the brief moments of positivity as tightly as you can. Moments like the sight of Bill Clinton frolicking in a sea of balloons at the end of the Democratic National Convention back in July.

Bill Clinton Loves Balloons And He Doesn’t Care Who Knows It

As the cameras locked in on Clinton, his eyes wide with childlike wonder, everything else that has happened on the campaign trail – the name-calling, the fear-mongering, that time Donald Trump bragged about the size of his dick – all seemed to fade away. We’d give anything to feel that feeling again, even if only for a second.

Fortunately, Trevor Noah has obliged us. The host of The Daily Show spent the bulk of Thursday night’s program interviewing Clinton, touching on everything from Hilary’s bid for the White House to the charitable work of the Clinton Foundation. But the best moment came right at the end, when the comedian dumped a bunch of red, white and blue balloons on the former President’s head.

“I did think about what gift I could give you for coming to the show,” said Noah. “I thought, you are the man who has everything, from people to influence, and I did notice that there is one thing that makes you smile.”

Clinton, for his part, appears to be loving his new job as America’s awesome grandpa, telling Noah that “I really am in my second childhood.”
