The Creed 2 trailer dropped overnight and by the looks of it, the sequel to 2015’s surprisingly excellent Creed will be more dramatic, more intense and more oily than any in the franchise before it.

A second trailer for the upcoming film, featuring Black Panther’s Michael B. Jordan and Westworlds Tessa Thompson, shows Jordan’s titular character facing a new challenge in Creed 2: balancing care for his family with training for the next big fight.

According to the Warner Bros. official synopsis: “Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family. Creed 2 is about going back to basic to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can’t escape your history.”

Since the first Creed film back in 2015, Jordan has built a huge profile for himself, mostly through his role as Erik Killmonger in Black Panther. Tessa Thompson, who is returning to play Bianca, has also had an astronomical couple of years. She’s appeared in Westworld, Dear White People, Portlandia, Thor: Ragnarok, and is currently filming both a new Lady and the Tramp film and an untitled Men in Black spin-off.

Sylvester Stallone shows no signs of slowing down as he reprises his Rocky Balboa character, for which he scored an Oscar nomination last time around.
