Crazy Frog Teased A Comeback And Everyone Immediately Lost Their Shit
"If Crazy Frog makes a comeback this year then our descent into hell will be complete."
There’s a lot of talk these days about “cultural resets”. But we all know the only true cultural reset was the first time that Crazy Frog stepped up to the mic, and let out his distinctive blast of pure, infectious nonsense.
There is simply no other contemporary musician with a profile to equal the Frog. He might be best known for his song ‘Axel F’, dubbed by its own music video “the most annoying thing in the world.” But his discography is far bigger than that viral hit.
He’s also recorded a cover of ‘Popcorn’, remixed everything from ‘I Like To Move It’ to ‘Last Christmas’, and created his own house banger in the form of ‘Crazy Frog In The House.’
But in recent years, as his musical career has morphed into one of the biggest memes on the planet, the Frog has been quiet. Suspiciously quiet. Which might explain why all it took was a single Tweet to kick off a whole new blast of Frog-based excitement.
Yep, the Frog has teased his return… Kind of?
Hey all! Back from my nap… Wait… Was I really asleep for that long?! My alarm clock must have not gone off… Sorry! pic.twitter.com/4mzJMrKTrI

It’s very hard to tell whether this Tweet is official. The account was created in April this year, and has spent that time tagging a range of meme-adjacent accounts, including PewDiePie and Ricky Berwick, along with getting into weird arguments about “cancel culture.” The account also recently Tweeted a picture of the Frog attempting to commit suicide, before deleting the tweet, apologising, and then deleting the apology.
But, on the other hand, as the Crazy Frog Wikipedia page notes, that Twitter account is linked to the Frog’s website, YouTube and Facebook pages. That makes it seem pretty legit. The website also promises that merch and a mobile game are both forthcoming, which is exactly how I’d market Crazy Frog in 2020.
So, is new Frog music coming? Who knows. And, ultimately, who cares?
Any Crazy Frog content is good content, and even if the Frog himself might not be returning any time soon, the Tweet has kicked off a storm of new Frog-based memes.
