Also, Bradley Cooper as a deadly soldier? Sure, why not.

Clint Eastwood’s back in the director’s chair to tell manly stories about war and shootin’ and stuff, because he’s Clint Eastwood and what do you expect from an 84-year-old cowboy who talks to chairs.

American Sniper will tell the story of real-life Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, who served four tours in Iraq and is popularly known as the most lethal sniper in US history, which is kind of like being the world’s best poker player in that you’re very good at what you do but you’ve lost immeasurably more than you’ve won by gaining that distinction. It stars Bradley Cooper, who seems to have been infected a serious case of with “look guys I’m a Serious Actor now” disease, referred to in the medical profession as McConaughey Syndrome.

Damn that’s some good trailer, though. None of this “let’s cram the whole movie into two minutes” nonsense. I kinda want to know if he shot that kid.

American Sniper premieres on January 16 in the US.
