The Best Signs From Today’s Massive Climate Strike
"Not even Marie Kondo could tidy this mess up."
Earlier today, thousands of students across Australia walked out of school and took to the streets as part of the global Climate Strike movement.
It’s the second time students have ditched school to make their voices heard, having gone on strike in November last year. Today’s movement was significantly larger: thousands of students gathered in more than 55 locations around Australia, including major cities and regional centres like Cairns, Lismore, and Gunnedah. Across the globe, protests took place in over 90 countries.
And boy, did the kids come through. The crowds at the major city marches were huge, with thousands of kids congregating outside the Old Treasury building in Melbourne, North Terrace in Adelaide, City Hall in Newcastle, and Town Hall in Sydney.
